Green Book
The HPA’s supplementary rulebook for arena polo. Where it is silent, the Blue Book applies.
The Green Book does not restate the rules on improper play. For players' equipment, dangerous play, hooking, striking a pony and misuse of the stick, the Blue Book governs. In practice that means the arena game inherits the grass rules on all of it, so rules 30, 33, 34 and 35 of the Blue Book are the ones to read.

Every rule here is stated in our own words, with short quoted extracts from the HPA Blue Book 2026 and Green Book 2025 and a link to the book itself. Polo Rules Test is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with the Hurlingham Polo Association. In any dispute the published rulebook governs.
