Rule 46. Penalty 7b - Infringement by Team Fouled

Penalty 7b: the hitting side got it wrong, so the other side gets a 5a.

• If the side taking the hit gets the procedure wrong, they lose the penalty altogether. There is no retake.
• The other side is awarded a Penalty 5a from the spot where the penalty was due to be taken, or was taken - so a scoring chance turns into a free hit for the team that fouled in the first place.
• Procedure here means the things rules 39 to 44 require of the hitting side: standing behind the ball where the penalty says so, hitting within the time, one stroke only, and the half shot restriction after a mishit.
